The Perhentian Islands are located off the east coast of northern Malaysia. Known for its stunning white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, jungle trekking and incredibly diverse marine life, the Perhentian Island is the home of many natural attractions.
Known as one of the best spots for snorkelling in Malaysia, you’re almost assured to view turtles, sharks, and colourful fishes along with fabulous corals and sea beds in Perhentian Islands.
The Perhentian Turtle Sanctuary Beach on Basah is famous for green turtle viewing, and if you are in luck, you may even get a sight of the eggs hatching and the baby turtles advancing toward the sea.
Perhentian Kecil is a great place for backpackers and budget travellers. But Perhentian Besar is a better choice for families and couples. Getting to the Perhentians requires taking a boat. It is best to go in the summer.
Nearby Perhentian Kecil — the small island — is a little more laid back, and many of the resorts there are just as affordable.
