Our company is pleased to extend the “Your Hidden Gem” Mataking Promo which is valid from 1st April 2022 to 31st December 2022 in conjunction to the reopening of Malaysia’s international borders. Please find the offers depicted below:

Booking Period: Now – 28 December 2022
Travelling Period: 01 April 2022 – 31 December 2022

Room Conditions

• Please note that all room allocation is based on Run of the House (ROH).
• Please refer to Appendix (1) for more details on room facilities/amenities for each room category.
• The resort’s normal Check-in Time is at 14:00hrs and Check-out Time is at 11:00hrs.
• Any early check-in or late check-out will be subject to room availability, especially during peak season.

Important Note:

• All travellers MUST BE fully vaccinated, check-in date must be 14 days after receiving the second dose.
• Travel date change subject to approval & charges.
• The Management reserves the right to alter, amend, delete or add to these conditions or withdraw the package at any time without prior notice.
• Guests will bear the cost of transportation if symptomatic during the stay and tested positive.

NOTICE: SOP – THE REEF DIVE RESORT (MATAKING ISLAND)
ALL travelers include SABAHAN & INTER-STATE travelers (for West Malaysia, Sarawak, and Labuan entry to Sabah) are advisable to undergo Covid-19 RTK-Antigen negative test results (nasopharyngeal or saliva) within 3 days before departure date for premises entry.

• My Sejahtera APP status for each individual must be in ‘Low Risk No Symptom’ & ‘Fully Vaccinated’.
• For INTERNATIONAL travelers, Malaysia’s borders will be reopening starting from 1st April 2022 onwards as the country begins transition to COVID-19 Endemic Phase 1.
• Only those who are fully vaccinated are allowed to enter the Resort’s premises.
• NO quarantine is needed for Fully Vaccinated International travelers to Malaysia.
• MUST undergo PCR 2 Days before departure to Malaysia plus RTK Professional within 24 hours after arrival at KLIA.

Summary:
Malaysian Government has made it mandatory to download and activate the MySejahtera mobile app for all travelers and this app will enhance the effectiveness of contact tracing by the Ministry of Health of Malaysian and contain any potential outbreak, ensuring a safer travel experience for everyone.

The package rates EXCLUDE compulsory charges as listed below:

• Jetty fee of RM 2.00 per person per entrance for Malaysian (Identification Card holder)
• Jetty fee of RM 10.00 per person per entrance for International/Non-Malaysian (Passport holder)

Mandatory by the law of Malaysia Tourism Tax (MyTTx) – only applies to Non-Malaysian / International (with Foreign Passports).

• Flat rate of RM 10.00 per room per night will be collected directly from all foreign guests by cash at the resort on behalf of Royal Malaysian Customs effective 1st September 2017
• This fee is necessary for the Country to carry out the development, enhancement, maintenance and promotion of tourism in Malaysia.

PACKAGE INCLUSIVE

• Return trip of Land & Boat Transfers on the Actual Check-in Date & Actual Check-out Date (Tawau Airport – Semporna Jetty – Mataking Island – Semporna Jetty – Tawau Airport). Double/Twin/Triple/Quadruple sharing of accommodation with air-conditioning, fresh water hot shower, and attached bathroom.
• Full board meals at either A la Carte style (3 main meals) or buffet style depending on the level of resort occupancy. Free flow of coffee/tea and light snacks.
• For Diver Package – Inclusive of 3 daily boat dives with weights, weight belt, tanks, and our professional Dive Master/Dive Instructor at different dive sites such as Mataking Island, Timba-Timba Island, Pandanan Island, and other nearby island (except on the arrival and departure day) and unlimited shore buddy dives (house reef) without guide. Equipment rental is NOT included.
• For Non-Diver Package – Inclusive of unlimited snorkeling activity at Mataking Island beaches only.
• Equipment rental is NOT included. It is a free and easy activity around Mataking Island.
• Dive sites are within travelling by speed boat (15 to 30 minutes) AWAY FROM Mataking Island.

The sites shall include these islands below:

1. Pandanan Island
2. Timba-timba Island
3. Bohayan Island – dive site with soft and hard corals
4. Kelapuan Island – dive site to spot Mandarin fishes (as known as Mandarin valley)
5. Pom Pom Island
6. Mataking Island

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Above rates apply for a minimum 2 persons and thereafter based on twin/triple/quadruple sharing basis. ONE (1) room must occupy a minimum TWO (2) paying adults, all children are required to share and occupy the same room with parents/adults.
2. If a room consists of only ONE (1A) Adult and ONE (1C) Child, the room charges shall be quoted according to TWO (2A) Adults’ prices.
3. NO combination of packages is allowed under the same person (e.g. 2 nights of diver package plus 1 night of non- diver package or etc.).
4. Applicable to all room types, both adults and children.
5. Non-Diver Package CANNOT be converted to Diver Package (or either way) once a guest has arrived at the island.
6. Guests (non-diver stay package) with a certified dive license who wish to go for any diving activities will be charged at RM 100.00 per certified diver per dive regardless of check dive, boat dives, shore dives or Sipadan dives – NOT including dive equipment rental. Upon arrival, the guest will be charged RM 100.00 per pax for the first orientation/check dive. Every divers will need to carry out a check dive with our resident divemaster at first before proceeding to the regular dives.
7. Diver packages are subjected to our diving schedules and regulations as set by the dive center.
8. Any child who is a certified diver shall have to pay full diver rates regardless of their age and parents are to be held responsible for their child at all times.
9. Single Traveler: Additional 30% surcharge on top of the above package rates for single occupancy applies in a twin sharing room. In any event if there are no other guests to meet the minimum requirement for the land and boat transfers, there will be an additional charges.
10. Other than the Resort promotion, the Agent can extend some discount to the guests if needed under Agent’s own expenses (privately) if necessary. Resort will not interfere in this matter.
11. 10% Deposit / Reservation Fee has to be paid once an official booking has been confirmed within 7 days.
12. The balance or full payment must be settled at least 30 days prior to the check-in date. Otherwise, the reservation is subjected to automatic cancellation and will be made available for resale.
13. Equipment rental is NOT included in any of the Diver / Non Diver packages.
14. Upon arrival, guests are required to sign an affirmation and liability release form for the benefits of all parties.
15. All types of activities being offered by the company on the island, especially dive activities / Sipadan trip, are subjected to weather conditions / poor visibility and also the diver’s own physical status (e.g.: injuries, intoxication, hangovers, etc). Therefore, we reserve the final decision and rights to either proceed or abort any activities / dives for any safety reason.

TOP-UP PACKAGE: FUN DAY TRIP FROM MATAKING ISLAND > SIPADAN DAY TRIP (SNORKELING / DIVING TRIP)

1. Sipadan trip is available for our guests with a minimum of stay of 3 days and 2 nights as well the Sipadan permits are subject to availability.
2. This boat fee can be shared with other guests (if any) upon permit approval (maximum of 6 guests in one boat because we only provide 6 permits per day).

Trip Schedule:
07:00hrs – Breakfast at Restaurant 07:30hrs – Boat transfer to Sipadan Island
09:00hrs – Expected arrival at Sipadan Island and report to Sabah Park. 1st dive/Boat snorkeling 11:00hrs – Estimated 2nd dive / boat snorkeling
12:00hrs – Lunch (packed from resort) 13:30hrs – Estimated 3rd dive / boat snorkeling 15:00hrs – Boat transfer back to Mataking Resort 16:30hrs – Expected arrival back to Mataking Resort

Note:

1. Due to the recent ruling management of Sabah Park which has a restricted daily quota, all guests must apply permit in ADVANCE (preferably 1 MONTH before arrival) on a First Come First Serve basis to secure the limited permit being shared by all the resort operators at the same region.
2. Please be informed that the current permit is NON REFUNDABLE / RM 140.00 per person per day entry (subject to Sabah Park changes).
3. This special arrangement requires an additional boat fee of RM 1,380.00 per boat. This boat fee can be shared with other guests (if any) upon permit approval (maximum 6 guests in one boat).
4. All types of activities being offered by the company on the island, especially dive activities / Sipadan trip, are subjected to weather conditions / poor visibility and also the diver’s own physical status (e.g.: injuries, intoxication, hangovers, etc). Therefore, we reserve the final decision and rights to either proceed or abort any activities / dives for any safety reason.
5. It takes 80 minutes of speed boat ride to get to Sipadan Island from Mataking Island.
6. The Sipadan Agreement Form will be given out to ALL confirmed Sipadan participants upon arrival at reception hall during registration, the purpose of the agreement form is to verify Sipadan charges (as in permit fee and boat fee).

Cancellation for Sipadan Day Trip/Excursion
In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation shall applies:

1. Before guests’ arrival/check-in date: Free of charge
2. Upon arrival: Permit fee at RM 140.00 per person shall be charged
3. (Upon signing of the Sipadan Agreement Form: Boat fee + permit fee shall be charged (Boat fee will be charged according to the number of persons on that specific date)

Extra Note:

• Certified divers need to honestly and objectively assess their condition. It is not worth compromising their safety —which could ruin more than the whole trip — because he/she is in a hurry to make the first dive.
• How long does a Diver have to wait before flying after diving?
  • Staying at ground level before going to altitude is like doing a decompression stop. Deeper and longer dives will leave with more residual nitrogen, thus requiring a longer pre-flight surface interval. The time the diver should wait relates directly to the pattern of diving completed.
  • We recommend a general practice of allowing a surface interval of 24 hours or more before flying after diving. This should bring reasonable peace of mind and help to provide a buffer for unexpected problems, like a loss of cabin pressurization during flight. Ultimately, it is better safe than sorry and almost every location has enough to entertain for the final day.
• Flying After Diving (last day at resort) – We, at The Reef believe that this differs from different individuals, agencies and even dive computers / dive tables. If divers choose to dive less than 24 hours (recommended hours) before they fly, they will be required to sign a separate Liability/Release Form for this matter. However, this is still subject to the approval of the Dive Centre management.

RESERVATIONS, CONFIRMATIONS AND PAYMENTS
Reservations (bookings) transfers, hotels, side tours, etc. must be made with Seaya Holidays. This may be done online, by email, or phone; email is the preferred method.
Spaces shall automatically be released if no confirmation is received on the cut off dates. b) Payments can be made by Credit Card or Bank Transfer (email remittance slip only).

Payment arrangements:
Bank Transfer – please email the bank remittance slip for our record and advice us the date of sending it.
All transactions must be in Australian Dollars.
A copy of remittance advise shall be faxed or email to us. Please indicate the name and the dates of the trip on your payment for reference.

BOOKING CANCELLATION
In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation shall applies:

*Confirmation date to arrival / actual check-in date – 10% deposit of the trip’s full price forfeited. #NO SHOW of customer – 100% of the trip’s full price forfeited.

• The company shall not be held responsible and reserve the rights to charge the customer for additional costs rendered by any last minute cancellation, delay and charges of arrangement made by customer (less than 48 hours before the arrival as per schedule).
• Please note the accommodation may be available at the time of inquiry but it is not being held for you. A reservation will be made when we receive guest personal particulars. Your kind cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated.
